Matthew 14 tells us of a time when the disciples were in trouble. With Jesus absent, verse 24 says, Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from the land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.
The storms of life may appear cruel, but would you admit they lead us to a greater intensity and earnestness in our prayer life? Jesus Christ is not your security against the storms of life, but He is your perfect security in the storms. He has never promised us an easy ride, only a safe landing...in His grip.
